Wired World, by Philip Bond, was a regular strip in the adult comic magazine Deadline in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was a comedic, frequently rather crude "slice of life" strip which frequently took pot shots at public figures and elements of British society and popular culture.

The excerpt below is from a Christmas strip in which the virgin Pippa believes that she has become pregnant and her acerbic friend Liz is trying to get her into hospital, only to be that told there's no room. Later, three popular DJs appear as analogues of the three wise men, bringing gifts of a blank cheque, a Porsche and a Rolex watch. When Pippa realizes that she is not pregnant, the pair congratulate themselves on getting all this stuff for nothing, which is "the real meaning of Christmas."
