History[]
Winker Watson is a pupil at Greytowers boarding school, which he has actually been attending since 1961 (maybe he's been kept back a few times?) although nobody seems to have noticed this. For the entirety of their long careers at the school, Winker and his best mate Tim "Trotty" Trott have been in Form 3, under the watchful eye of their long suffering teacher Mr. "Creepy" Creep, whose entirely justified suspcions that the boys are up to no good lead to a fair amount of conflict. A habitual practical joker with a knack for finding innovative ways of avoiding doing any work, Winker is nonetheless a basically good hearted individual who'll do anything for anyone if they are in trouble.

Winker Watson was one of the longest running strips in the Dandy, appearing continuously from 1961-2007, and then returning in 2012. Unlike the majority of Dandy strips, it was frequently serialised, with stories sometimes running for several weeks.
