Warlord was a war-themed boys' comic launched by D.C. Thomson on 28th September 1974. It ran for 627 issues until 27th September 1986, when it was merged with Victor. Featured characters in the early issues included Codename Warlord (this strip ran throughout the title's run), Union Jack Jackson, Bomber Braddock and Young Wolf (featuring the boyhood adventures of an old D.C. Thomson favourite, the Wolf of Kabul). Later notable additions included Sergeant Rayker, Killer Kane (by Colin Andrew), The Executioner and Drake of E-Boat Alley by Ron Smith. From issue #220, Warlord absorbed another title, Bullet, and acquired the character Fireball, who had family ties to Lord Peter Flint from Codename Warlord.

Warlord Annuals were also published (as the Warlord Book for Boys), every year from 1976 to 1984.
