Viz1

Viz is a humour comic founded in 1979 by Chris Donald, which parodies traditional juvenile humour comics such as Beano and Dandy but is aimed firmly at an adult audience, using extreme bad language, violence and sexual situations for comedic effect. It also spoofs tabloid newspapers, with mocked-up letters pages and fake competitions and advertisements, and takes satirical swipes at current events. It enjoyed huge success in the 1990s in particular, at one point being one of the most popular magazines in the UK. Popular strips include foul-mouthed TV presenter Roger Mellie, the Man on the Telly; The Fat Slags; Biffa Bacon; Billy the Fish and Sid the Sexist.
