Vince Scampi was (along with Big Eddie, Sideways Smith, Evans the Fist, Spud Murphy, Frinton Fuzz, The Torso and Wulf Sternhammer) one of the Strontium Dogs who allied themselves with Johnny Alpha against his father Nelson Bunker Kreelman when Kreelman infiltrated The Doghouse and declared Johnny an outlaw. He also worked on occasion with the vampiric bounty hunter Durham Red.
