Victor was published by D.C. Thomson from 25th February 1961 and ran for 1657 weekly issues until 21st November 1992. A fairly eclectic title despite its martial name, it contained a diverse mix of strips including genres such as war, adventure, sport and comedy. Its most prominent strips included I Flew With Braddock, The Smasher, Cadman, Morgyn the Mighty, The Secrets of Section Six, The Tough of the Track, The Hammer Man and The Rule of Rogat. The short-lived title Buddy was folded into Victor in 1983.
Annuals were published as The Victor Book for Boys every year from 1964 to 1992, and Summer Specials from 1967 to 1992. Ian Kennedy provided many covers for the Summer Specials.
