The Unrighteous Brothers, a set of characters in the 2000 AD strip Strontium Dog, were a group of five criminal brothers who attempted to steal the ancient K'bob, which was a holy relic worshipped by the Knobs. (It was also a pair of old underpants, but the two conditions are not mutually exclusive.) They kidnapped a Sarcassian Rude Bird called Smerk and used it to steal the relic. Unfortunately for the brothers, the bounty hunters Johnny Alpha and Wulf Sternhammer managed to kill the five of them and claim the bounty on their head. So they did not die in vain. (Sort of.)
