The Ugrakks, led by Demur, were an alien race who could control any form of vegetation. Fighting a losing battle against a species of giant insect called Zama flies, the Ugrakks intended to force the Time Lord known as The Doctor and an elderly scientist called Professor Lammers to take them to another world which they could conquer, but the two scientists successfully escaped their clutches.

The Ugrakks were actually the winning entry in a competition to design a new monster. Their original creator was reader Ian Fairnington.
