History[]

Tycho is a character from the 2000 AD strip The V.C.s (the new series written by Dan Abnett). Having seen combat before, she joined the crew in 2583 AD as their missile man to replace Diderot, who had had to leave the V.C.s after he found out that he was a robot. Tycho was tough and eccentric, although she may have been deliberately exaggerating her weirdness to shock fellow new V.C. Tommy Hoff, who was straight out of training. Hoff found Tycho's willingness to talk about sex and her penchant for smoking cigarettes in the galley shocking.

Tycho proved to be a valuable member of the V.C.s, being as fearless in combat situations as she was tactless in social ones. She and the other V.C.s had to convince the peaceful or 'apologist' Geeks to form an an alliance with the humans to fight some hostile aliens called the Polity, who had ignited the human-Geek war in the first place. This meant fighting off the bellicose or 'loyalist' Geeks. Tycho saved Keege's life on Geek colony 4573 HD by vaping a loyalist who was just about to kill him. She also persuaded Hoff to use a 'holey moley' (a very powerful explosive) that he was carrying to destroy a loyalist ship.

The V.C.s' final recorded mission was to find and protect the influential Geek apologist Gaek'rr, in the hope that he would persuade the rest of the apologists of the benefits of banding with the humans. Tycho helped out by killing one of the mercenaries sent by the Polity to kill Gaek'rr, and by bandaging her teammate Ryx when he had been stabbed by another mercenary and was in danger of bleeding to death.
