"This time Chilton's gone too far... creatin' an organic computer called The Green under New York's Central Park, one of the last nature preserves in the American north-east. Chilton was lookin' for new technology and big profits. The Green fulfilled both criteria. That it was alive and sentient was a disaster. The Green started scannin' its surroundings and saw how bad we'd treated the environment. Wasn't any great trick for it to add up two and two... and suss that if man's responsible for trashin' the world, then the world'd be a better place without us. Hard to argue with its logic."
Trash was a comic strip by Paul Kupperberg and Nigel Dobbyn, set in the near future and starring a man called Trask who battled eco-crimes. It appeared in 2000 AD progs 760 to 770.
