History[]
Tim Kelly was an adventurer who had gained superhuman powers after discovering the apparently mystical artefact known as the Eye of Zoltec, a gem which he wore on a string or chain around his neck. The Eye eventually proved to grant Kelly not only invulnerability but extreme longevity too, and he survived for centuries, the Eye (which proved to be of alien origin and in some way alive) eventually taking root in his chest and becoming inextricably intertwined with his nervous system. Kelly was an ally of Max Brewster, the cyborg Universal Soldier.

Powers
Invulnerability (Kelly could survive pretty much anything, including a nuclear explosion, and did not need to breathe) and unspecified mental powers including total recall.

Probably superhuman.

Tim Kelly of the Kelly's Eye strip was originally created in IPC's Knockout comic and had most of his original adventures in the pages of Valiant (see Tim Kelly (Kelly's Eye)). His resurrection in 2000 AD proved to be a mistake: the publishers had believed they owned the rights to Kelly, but various changes of ownership of the IPC characters and of 2000 AD itself meant that, in fact, they did not. The strip was swiftly cancelled.
