Sergeant Wellbeloved: "That's all you lot are — whores and queers!"
Ahron Shakespeare: "Yes, well, this son of a whore and a queer has a job to finish, so if you don't mind, sir...?" 2000 AD prog 1990.
Ahron: "We were treated like pariahs — forced to live in slums, doing whatever work we could find, and being chastised for taking white people's jobs. Every day I was slapped and spat on as I walked to school. Not only by the children but their parents and sometimes teachers too." 2000 AD prog 1991.
Iykarus: "Your people have been under occupation for decades. They stay alive by looking the other way."
Ahron: "Then they're cowards and traitors!"
Iykarus: "No, no! You don't get to call them that unless you've walked in their shoes! Dead heroes don't feed their children! They do what they can to survive, make choices you can't even imagine. Bravery is won on more than just a battlefield." 2000 AD prog 1995.
Iykarus: "Didn't your parents tell you what life was like here?"
Ahron: "Not much. We keep some of the holy days but when they came to Earth they opted to start a new life. Building a future was more important to them than clinging to a lost past." 2000 AD prog 1996.
Ahron: "What you said... about my mother. I need more time to try to understand what she did! The woman you described... that's not her. Not the person who raised me... loved me. She's not a monster!"
Sohna: "No one ever thinks they are. They all feel their cause is right and just regardless of the consequences. Your mother was on the wrong side of history, but you do not have to live there." 2000 AD 1999.
Perelandra: "And does this pretty thing have a name... or a voice?" 2000 AD prog 2024.
Ahron: "I know I've met Sohna before but like this I couldn't pick him out of a crowd! They all look the same to me — and I never thought I'd hear myself saying that!" 2000 AD prog 2029.
Ahron: "Some of us are still about doing their duty!" 2000 AD prog 2033.
