The Thirteenth Floor was a serial originally published in Scream! throughout its run, beginning on March 24th 1984. Following Scream!'s cancellation, it transferred to the pages of Eagle. Devised by writers John Wagner and Alan Grant (writing together as "Ian Holland") and artist José Ortiz, it told the story of the demented sentient computer Max, caretaker of the Maxwell Tower block, who routinely murdered people after luring them to the tower's supposedly nonexistent 13th floor. The other regular character in the earlier installments was Max's controller, Jerry Knight, who actually ended up controlled by the computer for a time. Later installments saw Max transferred to Pringles Department Store and then acting as an agent of MI5. He eventually returned to Maxwell Tower, which ultimately burnt down.
The series was eventually revived by Rebellion, who in 2019 released a one-off special, The Thirteenth Floor: Home Sweet Home. The original series was reprinted in The Thirteenth Floor Vol 1.
