The third incarnation of The Doctor lived on Earth both during and after his exile by the Time Lords. He worked for Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart as scientific advisor to U.N.I.T (often assisted by Liz Shaw, Jo Grant or Sarah Jane Smith), but also investigated alien threats on his own, while based out of a country cottage somewhere in the south of England. He probably did this because of the Brigadier's unnerving tendency to bomb aliens into oblivion as soon as the Doctor had located them.

Notes
The third Doctor's comic strip adventures began in TV Comic, but the majority of them took place in Countdown/TV Action. He also appeared in strip adventures in the 1974, 1975 and 1992 editions of the Doctor Who Annual, in a number of TV Comic annuals and specials, and in several issues of Doctor Who Magazine.
Trivia
