History[]
Colonel Steve Austin was a former USAF pilot turned astronaut who was critically injured in an accident. Rebuit with state of the art bionic technology costing six million dollars, he became an agent of the Office of Scientific Information, a branch of US Intelligence. He had an on-off relationship with fellow agent Jaime Sommers, the Bionic Woman.

Realistically, since the rest of his upper body was not bionic, he'd have torn his bionic arm out of its socket every time he performed one of his feats of super strength. But nobody seems to have realised this.
