History
The Doctor's ninth incarnation was an often brusque, sometimes nervy individual. Traumatised by his experiences in the Time War, he nonetheless retained an innate optimism and love of life, despite choosing Rose Tyler and Captain Jack Harkness as companions. Also, he had a Mancunian accent, which is the best accent. (Lots of planets have a North.)
The Ninth Doctor was probably the only Doctor who would have nutted a Dalek to death if it looked at him funny.

He has since resurfaced in a limited series from Titan Comics.
Trivia
The Ninth Doctor's era in Doctor Who Magazine is the only one drawn by a single artist (Mike Collins) throughout.
