The House of Daemon was a serial by John Wagner, Alan Grant and José Ortiz which ran in Eagle from issue #25 (September 11th 1982) to issue #47 (February 12th 1983). It told the story of how architect Elliot Aldrich and his wife Cassandra (who handily turned out to have psychic powers) found their new dream home apparently haunted by an evil spirit calling itself Daemon, which trapped the couple, along with a number of other individuals, inside the house in various nightmare realms it had created. Daemon was eventually revealed to be an evil "child of darkness" from the future, the 26th century, where humans had all developed psychic abilities. Imprisoned in the Aldrich house, Daemon had escaped after a fashion by reaching back into the past, pursued by his jailers (who proved unable to stop him). Cassandra was able to temporarily defeat Daemon, allowing his captives to escape, and Elliot Aldrich had the house walled off to keep him contained indefinitely.

Notes[]

Daemon's reality warping abilities, which enabled him to create huge environments inside rooms in the house, seem pretty much identical to those of Max in The Thirteenth Floor, a later strip by the same creative team.
