History[]

The Fury was a 'cybiote' or genetically-engineered cyborg, described by one of its handlers as "an unstoppable amalgam of flesh and metal." It was created on the parallel world of Earth-238 by Mad Jim Jaspers, then a government minister, to wipe out all superhumans on his world except for himself (though Jaspers' true nature was unknown to his colleagues). The Fury killed all of Earth-238's superhumans within two years, except for the woman called Captain UK, who fled to another reality.

Deactivated after the conclusion of its mission, the Fury was revived by the government enforcers known as the Status Crew to kill the newly-arrived Captain Britain, which it did (after killing his friend Jackdaw). The Captain was resurrected back on his own Earth by Merlyn and the Fury instinctively knew this somehow and threw itself into the void between dimensions in an attempt to locate him and fulfil its mission (narrowly escaping the destruction of Earth-238 at the hands of the Dimensional Development Court).

Arriving on Captain Britain's Earth severely damaged and rebuilding itself from the bodies of homeless people it killed, it attacked Captain Britain, the fugitive Captain UK, Betsy Braddock and the parahuman mercenaries called the Special Executive, but failed in its primary objective. It later tracked the two Captains and their allies to where they were in the midst of confronting this world's version of Jaspers. Pleased at finally being able to terminate a version of its creator (a restriction which had always rankled) the Fury attacked Mad Jim and was ultimately able to overcome his reality-warping powers by taking him to an empty dimension where there was no reality to warp. It then incinerated his brain. Returning to Earth, the weakened Fury was finally torn apart by an enraged Captain UK.

Marvel US resurrection

Years later, the Fury was resurrected (along with Jaspers) during a reality-warping event, but was apparently killed by Captain Britain and his allies. Later, an entire race of Furies were inexplicably shown living in Otherworld in Knights of X Vol 1.
