History[]

The Executioner was a cowled, silent figure which took its orders from the Red Queen of the Crazy Gang, a group of bizarre criminals who worked for Mad Jim Jaspers on Earth-238, the so-called Crooked World. The Gang briefly clashed with Captain Britain but were presumably killed when Earth-238 was destroyed. However, an other-dimensional counterpart of Jaspers (a mutant with the power to warp reality) created duplicates of most of the Gang on Captain Britain's homeworld, Earth-616, including a duplicate Executioner. This Executioner aided the Captain against the cyborg known as The Fury and was electrocuted for its pains, but survived.

The Executioner was eventually revealed to be a robot and seemingly destroyed, but was later apparently rebuilt. It seemed to be totally dependent on the Red Queen for instructions, and lacking any real intelligence of its own. However, its mind, such as it was, was once able to possess the body of the mutant Phoenix.
