The Best of 2000 AD Special Edition was the title given to a somewhat disconnected 'series' of four 2000 AD reprint compilations, the first two published in 1993 and 1994 by Fleetway and the second two published in 1999 and 2000 by Egmont, though none were individually numbered. The first two were squarebound editions featuring stories including, in #1, Rogue Trooper and Ro-Busters by Alan Moore, Robo-Hunter by John Wagner and Nemesis the Warlock by Pat Mills and, in #2, ABC Warriors also by Moore, and the classic series Visible Man. Many of these were stories taken from past 2000 AD Annuals never previously reprinted. The third edition, published several years later, was published in a more cheaply produced (and much slimmer) magazine format, though it was notable for reprinting the first meeting between Judge Dredd and Johnny Alpha, while the fourth edition went back up to 100 pages squarebound (still much slimmer than either of the first two) but the contents were largely unremarkable.
