History[]

Del Tarrant was a talented space pilot and smuggler who fell foul of the Terran Federtion and ended up impersonating a Federation officer during a galactic war. His cover blown, he was saved from certain death by Kerr Avon, one of the band of freedom fighters known as Blake's 7, and joined them in their war against Federation tyranny for reasons of his own. Arrogant and often obnoxious, with the crew's original leader Blake long gone, Tarrant vied continually with Avon for control of the group, never accepting his authority, and displayed utter contempt for his crewmate Vila, whom he regarded as a coward and useless (though in fact, Vila was rather brighter than him). Tarrant apparently died along with most of his crewmates after walking into a Federation trap on the planet Gauda Prime.

Notes[]

Tarrant originated in the BBC TV series Blake's 7. He was featured in the third and final Blake's 7 Annual published by World Distributors and also in Marvel UK's Blake's 7: A Marvel Monthly.

Trivia[]

Tarrant was probably the least developed and least thought out member of the seven. When actor Steven Pacey, who played him on TV, was once asked to describe Tarrant's personality, he infamously replied "I didn't know Tarrant had a personality".
