Synopsis for "Tunnels of Terror!"[]
Captain Britain recovers in time to ward off the giant mutant gila monster. Dai Thomas turns up and tells him that Interpol say that Slaymaster is probably hiding in the sewers. Captain Britain flies away and is zapped by a giant floating skull that Slaymaster says is a scanner. He falls into the jaws of a giant robot snake that emerges from a manhole. The snake dumps him in Slaymaster's lair in the sewers, and Slaymaster kicks him to the floor. Captain Britain is dangled over "London's underground river of sewage" by a mechanical arm. Slaymaster lights a cigar and tells him that a grey nurse shark is swimming towards him to eat him, and that he, Slaymaster, has a date with "another kinda shark." He leaves in his 'rocket car' to rendezvous with the Mako, a yacht putting out from Falmouth.
Because Slaymaster foolishly left Captain Britain's star sceptre within his reach, the hero is able to escape from the shark. He returns to Slaymaster's lair and sees that the cigar lighter he had been using is monogrammed "KK," which means it was given to him by the shipping magnate Konrad Kharkov, who has a yacht called the Mako, which is a type of shark. Captaiin Britain flies to the coast of Cornwall and tries to board the yacht, but is attacked by a robot octopus.
Notes[]
Published by Marvel UK in October 1977.
Trivia[]
Slaymaster's grasp of ichthyology is poor. The grey nurse shark is not a "man-eater." In fact, it has never been known to kill a human.
