Synopsis for "When Slaymaster Strikes!"[]
Captain Britain hears a scream as Sir Thurlow Archer, who collected rare weapons, is shot through the heart by an arrow in his flat. He flies to the scene. The Slaymaster, pretending to be the victim's daughter, tricks Captain Britain being knocked out. The police, led by Dai Thomas, arrive at the flat and arrest Captain Britain on suspicion of killing Sir Thurlow Archer. He breaks the handcuffs and flies away. In Betsy Braddock's modelling studio, Brian reads a newspaper and discovers that the person who killed Sir Thurlow with an arrow is a serial killer targeting collectors. He goes to Jamie's race track to ask him about a previous victim for whom Jamie had worked. Jamie tells him that that man had collected horses, and that there is another collector on the track right now: Major Jock Gunn, who collects racing cars. Major Gunn is just about to fire the starting pistol. Brian has a bad feeling about this and changes into Captain Britain, but is too late to stop the starting pistol from exploding. It kills Major Gunn and renders Captain Britain unconscious.
