Synopsis for "Death Duel!"[]
Captain Britain uses his Star Sceptre to smash the Manipulator's brainwashing machine, before saving himself and Dai Thomas from the nerve gas. A pitched battle on the deck of the Ark Royal ensues, in the course of which: (a) Thomas de-zombifies some entranced sailors by igniting a box of signal flares to dazzle them out of their hypnosis; (b) Captain Britain defeats the Highwayman by throwing his Star Sceptre into the spokes of his motorcycle's wheel and causing him to crash; and (c) Thomas drains the tanks of all the aeroplanes on the ship. The Manipulator tries to escape in one of the planes, crashes into the sea and drowns. The Highwayman is taken to prison. Captain Britain is told that the Queen wants to give him a reward, but replies that saving her is all the honour he requires. Quite right too.
Notes[]
Published by Marvel UK in July 1977.
Trivia[]
In this story's first panel the scar is missing from the Manipulator's right cheek, but the next time his face is shown the scar has returned.
