Sonic the Comic was a title published fortnightly by Fleetway Editions (the company created by the merging of Fleetway with London Editions Magazines) between 1993 and 2002 (223 issues in total, though the last 39 of them were reprints). It featured the licensed property Sonic the Hedgehog and various other characters owned by Sega, based on videogames. Writers included Lew Stringer and Nigel Kitching, as well as Mark Millar amongst others, and artists included Richard Elson, Nigel Dobbyn and Mike McMahon. Letterer Ellie De Ville also worked on the title. Editors were Richard Burton and, later, Andy Diggle, then Steve MacManus.
