2000 AD prog 1341 cover

Snow/Tiger was a comic strip about two secret agents, codenamed Snow and Tiger, written by Andy Diggle and drawn by Andy Clarke. It had one story, 'Pax Americana', published in 2000 AD progs 1336 to 1342 (it had originally been pitched to Vertigo, but they didn't want it). Pictured is the cover Clarke drew for 2000 AD prog 1341.

The politics of Snow/Tiger were influenced by the terrorist attack on the USA's World Trade Center, which had taken place two years before the strip was published in 2003. Diggle was struck by the readers' strong reactions to his story: "One reader got really wound up, claiming the story must by anti-American because [the] villain was American, apparently without noticing that the world-saving hero was American too. People just see what they want to, I guess. Looking back, it's all a bit corny and clichéd, and the characters are horribly one-dimensional. But there's a part of me that always tries to see both sides of an argument, and to defend points of view that I don't necessarily agree with, and I think that came across to a degree."
