History[]

Slough Throt is a character from the 2000 AD strip Sláine. Having become a Drune Lord after shedding his human flesh, Throt grew powerful and got a lusting for it.

When he learnt that his master the Lord Weird Slough Feg was attempting to create Ragnarok with his dark magic, Throt became horrified at the idea of having no one to control. Making a copy of Feg's sinister plans, Throt attempted to flee and give the plans to a group of Druids to stop his former master. On his way he hunted down Sláine and forced him to serve as his bodyguard under threat of wiping out a small village if he did not comply.

During this time Feg attempted to kill Slough Throt a great many times, resulting in Throt spending a lot of the time yelling "Sláine, help me!". There were also several instances where Throt caused himself trouble resulting in him going "Sláine, help me!" yet again. One of the later of these instances was setting off a volcano to knock down pirate air ships, whilst his own air ship was not clear of the blast. This resulted in the ship crashing and killing nearly all of the passengers.

After this happened, Throt, Sláine, Ukko and a merchant (who was quickly savaged to death) were surrounded by forest animals controlled by Feg's magic. Throt created a magic circle keeping out the animals. Unfortunately however, this failed to stop worms sent by Feg's god, the worm-god Crom-Cruach, from tunnelling up from the ground and swarming him, eating him alive in a matter of seconds. Before Throt died he told Sláine of his master's plans.
