Sidney William Burgon (born 1936) was a comics artist who broke into the industry in 1963 drawing cartoons for The Weekly News under the pseudonym 'Swab' (taken from his initials). From 1970 he worked for Fleetway on strips including Joker (in Knockout), Hit Kid (in Krazy Comic), Bookworm and Lolly Pop (in Whoopee!) and Ivor Lott and Tony Broke (for Buster). He began working for D.C. Thomson in 1989 (drawing Biffo the Bear in Beano, Bully Beef and Chips and Keyhole Kate for Dandy and Adrian the Barbarian in Beezer) but eventually retired in 2012.
