Sarah 'Seven Pound Sadie' Suggs (whose nickname derived from the seven pound hammer she carried as a weapon) was a female desperado from the Cursed Earth who met Mean Angel while they were both robbing the same bank. Mean was instantly besotted with her. They decided to marry, and Mean's family, the Angel Gang, used this as an excuse to extort money ('wedding presents') from their neighbours. However, after the ceremony Sadie — still in her wedding dress and veil — knocked Mean out and ran off with the loot. Mean's response was, "That's my kinda wumman!"
It was revealed years later that Sarah had given birth to a son, Mean Jr, whom she and Mean had conceived before the wedding. When she became infuriated with the boy because of his lack of criminal tendencies, she hired some men to break Mean Angel out of prison so that he could take charge of Mean Jr instead.
