Ronald Sydney Embleton (6th October 1930 to 13th February 1988) was a London-born comic artist. He worked for various publishers over a long and varied career, on strips and titles including Super Detective Library, Comic Cuts, Mickey Mouse Weekly, Express Weekly (on Wulf the Briton), The Eagle, TV Century 21, Look and Learn, Playhour and, in something of a departure from his previous work, Oh, Wicked Wanda! for Penthouse magazine. His work on TV Century 21's Stingray strip so impressed Gerry Anderson that he invited Embleton to create ten paintings for the end credits of his new TV series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Ron's brother Gerry Embleton, who now produces illustrations of military and historic subjects, was also a comics artist.
