History[]

Peter Silk is a supporting character from the 2000 AD strip Invasion!. He was a member of the British resistance, fighting against the tyranny of the Volgan invaders. At some point he witnessed Bill Savage skilfully slaughter a group of Volgans and decided to get Savage to enlist. While met with some opposition, Savage joined and worked together with Silk taking out numerous Volgan soldiers and elites.

At first Silk seemed to dislike Savage, and they were implied to have come from very different backgrounds (Silk coming from a well-off family compared to the working-class Savage). Also, Silk was shown to have a more cautious and reflective nature than Savage, and be more likely to give up in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds which Savage would inevitably find a way to overcome. The two eventually became good friends, and Silk followed after Savage when he decided to leave the alliance to continue killing off the Volgans. Silk's rôle was mostly to wring his hands about the Volgans' latest atrocity before Savage would come up with some daring and brutal plan enabling them both to take revenge on their country's occupiers.

Silk fought alongside Savage for several months, fighting off the Volgan oppressors, before he was finally murdered towards the end of the original series, being thrown from a mast by an undercover Volgan spy. Shortly after however, Savage returned the favour and blew the spy out of the sky with a rocket launcher.
