History[]
A mutant and the son of a Metropolitan Police officer, Pete Wisdom has a tragic past; his mother was killed by serial killer Michael Ryan in the Hungerford massacre. She had been waiting for Pete, who didn't turn up as he'd argued with her earlier.
In adulthood, Wisdom joined British Intelligence, specifically S.T.R.I.K.E. (Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies), the part which handles supernatural and extraterrestrial threats, and through them, the agency known as Black Air. Wisdom did questionable things while in Black Air, but later turned on the corrupt agency after they used him to infiltrate the super team Excalibur, whose ranks he joined. He had an antagonistic relationship with Captain Britain (Brian Braddock), but entered into a relationship with Kitty Pryde, though this did not last. He also clashed with Kitty's ex-boyfriend Colossus, who actually put him into a wheelchair for a time.
Following the dissolution of Black Air, Wisdom was placed in charge of MI13, the agency set up to replace them. He has continued to associate with Excalibur.

Absorbs heat and solar radiationm, which he can use in a variety of ways, but mostly by releasing it as projectile weapons he calls "hot knives".
