History[]
Kyle Richmond was a bored millionaire playboy until he discovered a serum that made him superhuman at night and was recruited by the cosmic entity called the Grandmaster to challenge the Avengers as Nighthawk, a member of his Squadron Sinister. Defeated, Nighthawk dropped out of sight for a while before returning to try to usurp Daredevil's position as one of New York's most prominent superheroes. He failed again, his heroism exposed as a sham, and rejoined the Squadron Sinister, but when his teammates conspired to sell the Earth to Nebulon the Celestial Man and destroy humanity, Kyle discovered that he had a conscience after all and assisted the Defenders in defeating the villains, almost dying in the process. Nighthawk subsequently joined the Defenders and became a mainstay of the group.
