
Doctor Who by Neville Main
Neville Main (born Leicester, 23rd November 1913) was originally an illustrator of childrens books but by 1951 had transitioned into comics, working regularly for TV Comic from its first issue on strips including Muffin the Mule, Jimmy and His Engines (a strip which originated in Mickey Mouse Weekly), Snoozy the Sea-Lion, Four Feather Falls, Fireball XL5, Basil Brush, Tivvy and Popeye, and was the original artist on TV Comic's long running Doctor Who strip (see Doctor Who in Comics). He also worked on TV Land, TV Playland, Pippin and Pippin & Playland. He died in Oxford in 1994.
