Schoolboy Dave Taylor's life is changed when his pet dog is possessed by an amorphous alien named Gleerk, who is frankly a bit of a git, constantly insulting Dave (and the rest of humanity) and seemingly giving no thought whatsoever to his hijacking of an innocent animal's mind and body. Then again, Dave himself isn't much better; he doesn't even appear to refer to the poor mutt by name...
