M.A.S.K was a title originally published fortnightly and later weekly by IPC/Fleetway in 1986-1988. It was based on the American action figure/animated series franchise about the ongoing battles between the heroic Matt Trakker and his Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand (M.A.S.K; clearly, heroic or not, Trakker couldn't spell) and the villainous Miles Mayhem and the forces of V.E.N.O.M (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem; surely the most desperate reach for an acronym in the history of villaindom). The early issues reprinted material from the American M.A.S.K series produced under licence by DC Comics, but the title soon moved on to new UK-originated material produced by people such as Ian Kennedy, Peter Milligan, David Pugh, Carlos Pino, Anthony Williams and Joe Colquhoun. Ron Smith provided covers for issues #4, #7, #10 and #22. It lasted 80 issues before merging with Eagle, and there was also a M.A.S.K Annual published by Grandreams in 1986.
