History[]

Libra Kelly is a character from the 2000 AD strip Counterfeit Girl. After her father was killed by Sir Albion Starflight because he knew too much, Libra went on the run and found a no-hoper in the slums of the city (Paradise Plaza, where the drug addicts hang out) to transfer her memories into as she laid low. The no-hoper gained all of Libra's memories and believed herself to be Libra Kelly.

After the fake Libra was finally discovered by Starflight's agents, the original Libra hunted her down with the help of Slayd Starflight (Sir Albion's son and the original Libra's secret lover) and Gene Selfish. Eventually they found her and after the original Libra told the fake that all her memories were a lie she was tied up and taken away towards Starflight's tower. The original Libra and Slayd hoped to be able to run away together to a distant planet.

Left alone, Gene Selfish had a change of heart and called in some mercenary buddies to take out Libra's ship and rescue the fake Libra. As revenge for all that the original Libra had put her through, the fake Libra then had the original Libra tied down and gagged in a personality rewriting machine, overwriting the real Libra's persona with that of the fake Libra. The original Libra was then delivered to Starflight and was put through brain surgery with a drill pushed into her head, making her the happy and willing slave of Starflight.
