Dandy #1 (1937)

History[]

Keyhole Kate is a nosey little girl who likes to spy on people through keyholes. This slightly perverse behaviour has persisted since 1937 without her ever being charged with an offence, which surely says something about the state of our justice system. In recent years, Kate has attempted to make a virtue of her vice by becoming a reporter for her school newspaper, but it's really still just an excuse to snoop.

Notes[]

Keyhole Kate was one of the original stars of the Dandy, appearing until 1955. She resurfaced in Sparky from 1965-1974, but returned to Dandy in the late 1980s for a few years. Dropped again, then revived again, she finally bowed out seemingly for good in 2007, but later reappeared in the 2013 Dandy Annual and continues to appear in that publication. She has also guest starred in the Bash Street Kids stories. Creators to have worked on her over the years include Tom Paterson, Trevor Metcalfe, Sid Burgon, Kev F. Sutherland, Laura Howell and Lew Stringer.
