History[]
Kevin Mulhearn was a member of S.T.R.I.K.E.'s Psi-Division when the crime lord Vixen secretly took over S.T.R.I.K.E. Vixen sent her assassin Slaymaster after the psychics in order to silence them because they were the only ones to realise what was happening. Yes, that's right: in a group full of highly-trained spies and James Bond-type people who were supposed to be Britain's last, secret line of defence against disaster, the only people who could spot something highly dodgy going on in their own organisation were the people with psychic powers. Either that, or Psi-Division were the only ones Vixen couldn't bribe, because they were all using their abilities to accrue fortunes through gambling.
After the remaining members of the division went into hiding, Kevin took a job at a theatre as stage mentalist Doctor Destiny, against the advice of Betsy Braddock. While he was on stage a member of audience addressed Kevin and asked what he had in his pocket. Kevin realised too late what was about to happen before he was gunned down in front of the entire audience. He was connected telepathically with Alison Double at the time of his death. When she screamed his name and collapsed in front of her fellow psychics, Avril Davis, Vicki Reppion, Tom Lennox and Betsy Braddock, knew that he had been killed.
Kevin was later resurrected in Excalibur Vol 4 22.
