Judge Maitland

Judge Maitland is a Justice Department accountant in Mega-City One, and unlike most "bean counters", is generally highly regarded by Judge Dredd. Initially meeting Dredd when she took issue with his reckless attitude to spending and neglect of paperwork, she nonetheless impressed him enough to be recruited by him to investigate the corrupt Judge Carolyn Bachmann, and was subsequently promoted to head of Accounts Division. She was one of the Judges responsibe for the decision to destroy Enceladus with a nuclear missile, and as a result was targeted by rogue Judge Aimee Nixon. In 2138, she was a part of sensitive negotiations with the alien Kleggs.

In the Enceladus storyline, it is implied that Maitland is now one of the ruling Council of Five.
In the story Trifecta, Maitland has part of her memory wiped as a result of becoming mixed up in the schemes of the manipulative Judge Smiley.

Trivia[]

During the Enceladus storyline, Maitland was mistakenly depicted as white.
