Joseph Dredd was one of the most feared and respected Judges in Mega-City One, but at first, there was a secret that even he didn't know: he was a clone, grown from the cells of Chief Judge Fargo, the founder of the Judge system! His past revealed to him following a clash with his insane clone brother Rico, Dredd continues to bring justice to a city that desperately needs him, the craziest city on Earth.

This version of Judge Dredd, who starred in 23 issues of Judge Dredd, Lawman of the Future in 1995, was created for a slightly younger audience than the original Dredd, and based on the version of the character played by Sylvester Stallone in the 1995 Judge Dredd movie.
