History[]
Judge Fish is a character from the 2000 AD strip Judge Dredd. He was a seemingly ordinary goldfish who was appointed Deputy Chief Judge of Mega-City One by his owner, the insane Chief Judge Cal. He allegedly made proclamations to the citizenry, though only Cal seemed able to hear them (to everyone else, Judge Fish appeared simply to be blowing bubbles). He was ultimately assassinated by one of Cal's own Judges in an attempt to make the superstitious Cal stop executing the citizens in alphabetical order, which worked. Cal had Judge Fish cremated and his ashes placed in a golden bowl. He then ordered a full Judicial funeral, complete with banners reading "HIS WISDOM LIVES ON" and "GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN," and was very upset when nobody else turned up to it.

It also isn't known whether, if it did happen, Caligula meant it sincerely (because he was mad) or as a practical joke, or a form of satire.
- Judge Fish has a cameo in the episode of Orlok: Agent of East-Meg One in 2000 AD prog 1926.
