Spectre Stories

John Spencer & Co. were a publisher of comic magazines in the 1960s, though they had been publishing other material since the 1940s. Titles included Macabre Stories, Strange Stories, Fantasy Stories and Spectre Stories, all of which were put together by Mick Anglo and launched in 1966. All of them contained seemingly partly redrawn reprints, and generally were not particularly well done, the impression being that they were put together in a hurry. All four were cancelled after six issues. In 1967 John Spencer & Co. launched The Purple Hood and time-travel thriller The Adventures of Mark Tyme, both of which were drawn by Michael Jay and both of which lasted just two issues.
