John Freeman (born 18th January 1943) is a British comics writer and editor best known for his work for Marvel UK in the 1980s and 1990s, on titles including Doctor Who Magazine, The Real Ghostbusters, ThunderCats, Galaxy Rangers Death's Head II, Warheads, Overkill, Gene Dogs, Motormouth and Killpower, and Shadow Riders. He later helped establish Titan Magazines as its first Managing Editor, and has written for Spaceship Away, Strip: The Adventure Comics Magazine and the Judge Dredd Megazine (notably on Karyn: Psi-Division), among many other titles. He also wrote The Really Heavy Greatcoat for over twenty years, edits for Titan Comics, and runs the comics website Down the Tubes.
