History[]

The child of a Japanese doctor and his English wife, Joe Dakee was ostracised by his peers for his mixed heritage. As a teenager, he left home to join a band of ruthless jungle bandits, rising eventually to lead the group, and had no hesitation in taking employment from the Japanese army in World War II, until he discovered that his employers had murdered his parents and destroyed his village. Dakee led his men in a suicidal assault on the Japanese, barely escaping into the jungle where he happened upon a dead British army officer. Taking the man's uniform, he tracked down the remnants of his squad and introduced himself to them as 'Captain Darkie', their new leader. Then, he began turning them into his own private army, 'Darkie's Mob', using them to strike back at the Japanese. After months of guerrila fighting in which most of the Mob were gradually killed off, the psychotic Darkie finally succumbed to a bullet in the stomach, though not before exacting his revenge on the Japanses officer who had killed his family.
