History[]
Apparently a creation of the mutant Mad Jim Jaspers like his teammates, the Crazy Gang, Coco the Jester (sometimes called the Harlequin) was originally a native of Earth-238, but was recreated by Jaspers on Earth-616 after Earth-238 was destroyed. Following the team's abandonment by Jaspers, the Jester (who seems to be slightly more intelligent than most of his teammates) seems to have become the Gang's nominal leader; one of his early decisions was to place a newspaper ad stating that a group of criminals were looking for a leader, a move which resulted in the team being duped into working for the assassin Slaymaster. Like the rest of the Gang, the Jester is not really evil, but has nonetheless clashed repeatedly with Captain Britain (Brian Braddock).
