History[]

Ian Chesterton was a science teacher at Coal Hill School in Shoreditch in the 1960s, who was effectively kidnapped (along with his colleague, Barbara Wright) by the time traveller known as the Doctor and travelled with him for some years (at least in the version of the First Doctor's history that didn't include John and Gillian instead). After returning to Earth in a stolen Dalek timeship, Ian and Barbara apparently married and ended up at Cambridge University, though Ian also became a governor of Coal Hill. Years later, they teamed up with the Eleventh Doctor to stop their old foes the Tribe of Gum from causing chaos.
