Synopsis for "The Black Knight"[]

Gafael, gatekeeper of Camelot, blows his horn to announce the approach of strangers: the Black Knight, Valinor and the captive Gargantua. The knight and the horse are permitted to enter, and Gargantua is put in a dungeon. (The dungeons in Camelot must be huge.) Roma greets the Black Knight and asks for news of her father. Gafael's horn blows again. Moondog and a group of elves run towards the gate of Camelot, pursued by a monster called Maegog. An elf is pierced all the way through by one of Maegog's arrows and dies.

Notes[]

Published by Marvel UK in February 1980.

Trivia[]

The elf who dies in The Black Knight isn't named until the next episode. We'd never heard of him before, so it's hard to get too upset about his untimely demise. Elves in The Black Knight serve the same purpose as redshirts in Star Trek.
