Synopsis for "The Black Knight"[]
The Black Knight defeats Mandrac's servants. Mandrac reabsorbs them "into his very being," because they were his embodied thoughts, and challenges Merlyn to a fight. Merlyn materialises as an old man. Mandrac's servants bring him his war hammer. The Nether God smites the ground with it, causing a chasm to open up. Moondog has to save one of his fellow elves from falling into the abyss. Mandrac tells Merlyn that he is doomed.
Notes[]
Published by Marvel UK in August 1979
Trivia[]
When Mandrac charges in The Black Knight, the Knight says that he can hear "the pounding of giant hooves." However, Mandrac's "phantom charger" actually has clawed feet.
