Synopsis for "The Black Knight"[]
Croglin the goblin is prevented from killing Moondog by Cormac, an evil walker who wants to question the captured elf. Moondog's friends count the cost of the battle and discover that he is missing. Captain Britain leaves in the elves' only unburnt boat for Otherworld, having been told by Vortigen that he was the object of the Black Knight's quest and the reason Vortigen returned to Earth. In fact, "beneath the darkness in your mind is a secret of tantamount importance to Merlyn." Vortigen sets off to find a special rowan tree from which he can fashion a new staff.
